Bright Vineyard lies in the Chehalem Mountains AVA, located just 20 miles southwest of Portland. The Chehalem Mountains AVA spans an impressive 20 miles in length and 5 miles in breadth. Its diverse landscape includes prominent features like Ribbon Ridge and Parrett Mountain, adding character to the wines produced here. At the heart of the AVA lies the highest point in the Willamette Valley, Bald Peak, whose elevation influences the local climate, giving the wines a unique flavor profile.
One of the key aspects that set the Chehalem Mountains apart is their varied soil composition. With basaltic, ocean sedimentary, and loess soils present throughout the region, each vineyard within the AVA offers a distinct terroir.
